Wingspan 10-11 mm.

Distributed widely in England and Wales, this fairly distinctive Gelechiid moth has also been recorded in Ireland.

It flies generally between July and September, and is known for its habit of resting in crevices in bark.

The larva feeds on oak (Quercus), feeding in the young shoots.
