Sub-angled Wave Scopula nigropunctata
(Hufnagel, 1767)
Wingspan 29-34 mm.
The English name of this moth probably derives from the angled rear edge of the hindwings.
It is found mainly within the British Isles around coastal undercliffs and woods in Kent and Sussex, but was formerly a little more widespread. It is also an occasional migrant to southern counties and the Isle of Wight.
The larval foodplants in the wild are not known, but in captivity it will accept dandelion (Taraxacum) and traveller's-joy (Clematis).
