Shoulder Stripe Earophila badiata

Wingspan 25-30 mm.

An early spring species, flying in March and April, this moth is fairly common in England and Wales, and scarcer in Scotland and Ireland.

It shows a variety of colour forms, but all have the same basic pattern.

It inhabits woodland, scrubland and other open areas, and the larvae feed on types of rose (Rosa).
