Argyresthia pygmaeella
([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Wingspan 10-13 mm.
Despite the scientific name, this is one of the larger of the genus Argyresthia, although still a very small moth.
The species is fairly common and widely distributed throughout the British Isles, where the adults fly in a single generation between June and August.
The foodplants are sallow and willow (Salix spp.), the larvae feeding in the young shoots or catkins.
