The Streamer Anticlea derivata

([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan 30-34 mm.

Occupying woodland edges, hedgerows and similar bushy places, this species can be found quite early in the season, flying in April and May.

It is fairly common over much of Britain, though commoner in the south.

The larvae feed on the leaves and flowers of dog-rose (Rosa canina).
