Agonopterix pallorella

Wingspan c. 20mm.

A fairly distinct Agonopterix, having a buff or pinkish ground colour, with a broad brown streak on the forewing and a number of darker spots.

Apparently less well distributed than previously, it now occurs mainly around the southern English counties, South Wales and southern Ireland.

The larva feeds on knapweed (Centaurea spp.) or saw-wort (Serratula tinctoria), in rolled leaves.

The adult moths emerge from about August onwards and overwinter in this stage.
